.............................................
During the course which will quickly cover how a digital camera works, but move swiftly onto learning in much more detail how to import, crop, straighten horizons, optimize and sort tone, finely tune contrast, correct colour casts, remove unwanted objects, correct poor areas of exposure by isolating them and lightening them or darkening them. We will learn the different sharpening techniques, and how to get the best from our digital cameras and printers. We will look at the good web sites available as resources for information and the software available for download which make some jobs easier.
Projects which will form part of the class
Students will supply an old family black and white photograph, these will be scanned into the computer and using the techniques explained above we will retouch, restore and print out pictures to their former glory
Students will take a series of overlapping pictures which we will join into a panorama within Photoshop Elements we will then print off the finished results.
